I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
and because I cannot do
everything I will not refuse
to do something that
I can do.
I am the world to change the world.
Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the action stems the dream again and interdependence produces the higher form of living.
I thought "Why
doesn't someone do something about this?!"
And then I realized
I am someone.
To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends.
To appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
